Zlatoust

The Zlatoust Watch Factory, named after Kirov, was evacuated from Moscow to Zlatoust on October 22, 1941, by order of the People’s Commissariat of General Engineering of the USSR. Despite the challenging production conditions and young staff, the factory produced over 300,000 timepieces and more than 14 million parts for ammunition during the war years. Today, the factory remains the only manufacturer of mechanical stopwatches in Russia, supplying to 12 countries abroad.
